Highways and Transport – Driving the future
We are looking for a Compliance Assistant to join our Taxi Licensing team, helping to keep our licensed hackney carriage and private hire, drivers and licensing services running safely and smoothly.
Based within a busy and supportive environment, you will play a key role in making sure the Council meets its legal responsibilities around road safety and licensed vehicle compliance.
As a Compliance Assistant, you will support the team with licensing applications, creating plates and badges, handling complaints, booking appointments, updating records and taking payments. You will also help maintain high standards across our taxi and private hire fleet
This role is ideal for someone who’s confident working with legislation, has strong admin skills, and enjoys solving problems. You will need to be comfortable dealing with a wide range of people, sometimes in challenging situations, and be able to manage your own workload effectively.
We’re looking for someone with a couple years of experience in a relevant area, such as licensing, fleet management, trading standards or health and safety, with good IT skills
