We are looking for a Foods Logistics Manager to lead the daily operations of our international food logistics. This a pivotal role, which will involve ensuring seamless coordination across transportation, warehousing, and capacity planning, while maintaining compliance with our global food safety standards and import/export regulations.
This position will need to drive service excellence and cost efficiency, working closely with internal teams and external partners to resolve challenges, streamline processes, and champion continuous improvement across our international supply chain.
NB: Although this role is based at our Paddington Support Office a minimum of three days a week some overseas travel will be required to either our Distribution Centres in the UK or internationally.
What you’ll do
Your key accountabilities will include:
- Ensure logistics providers achieve operational Key Performance Indicators and the defined customer service levels through weekly / monthly / quarterly review
- Understand the cost base and manage the relevant logistics provider in line with the operating plan, supporting the delivery of the in year operating plan
- Own site capacities and capabilities on a week-to-week basis ensuring any constraints are fully understood and managed accordingly, acting as the day-to-day operational logistics contact for internal and external key partners
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within our warehouse operations to improve cost efficiency, service quality, and safety, collaborating closely with onsite teams to implement solutions and foster an environment of evolving development
- Take accountability for the wholesale business by partnering effectively with key participants, handling order placement with the supply chain, and coordinating site-based shipping activities
Who you are
Your skills and experience will include:
- An in-depth understanding of Warehouse Operations within a food network or a similar environment and comfortable working within a time-pressured, constantly evolving environment
- Knowledge of Transport and International Freight operations and Third-Party Logistics (3PL)
- Strong financial foresight and budget management with the ability to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives
- Experience of working on and delivering strategic projects and making clear and concise decisions at pace
- Ability to initiate and build positive relationships with key business partners across multiple functions within the UK and Internationally
